Who says a 70-something year old grandma can't become a pitcher for the minor league?? My Mama was asked to throw the first pitch for tonights Round Rock Express game. It was really just too cute for words. For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of meeting my Mama Reid, the history behind this is that she's been a season ticket holder (1st row behind the catcher) since the Dell Diamond opened. She attends every home game and is known for her chicken dance techniques...oh, and I think she's made friends with every person in the stadium :) The announcer also mentioned that every white rock stone in the Dell Diamond was inserted by the masonry company that Papa & Mama started (and is now run by my uncle)...pretty neat-o. Mama was honored to throw the first pitch and her family was very proud!
